We will explore the tragedy of this play set within a brutal war where men are devoured by ambition and changed by guilt and grief. We will look at:
- The dark powers of the imagination as embodied onstage by Shakespeare's witches. Who are they? Can we see them? Should we see them?
- The shattering of Lady Macbeth and her infinitesimal pieces.
The addiction to power and the psychological abyss that it brings.
